I have had enough time now to reflect on my wedding and talk to others of their wedding planning experiences and I could not be more happy with our decision to go with Jefferson Street Mansion. JSM was amazing and really helped make the whole experience smooth. My husband and I moved, I started a new job AND we got married within the same month. Without this venue I would have not kept my sanity. We had our ceremony and reception there. When I hear the horror stories of other weddings at different venues I only become more grateful for our choice to hold ours here. Truly, not much in the realm of decoration was necessary; I just did flowers at each table and an arrangement over the arch at the ceremony site. We dropped off all our items the day before so all we had to do was show up. Our guests loved the food and venue. I can’t say enough great things about this venue and would most certainly recommend this venue to anyone looking without hesitation. THANK YOU JSM for exceeding my wedding expectations.

I have to apologize because this review has been way overdue. My husband and I said our I do’s at the Jefferson Street Mansion on October 18, 2014. We held both our ceremony and our reception at this wonderful location. From the time we chose to hold our wedding here, until the very end of our happily every after, the coordinator was absolutely spectacular. I probably emailed her a few hundred times with requests, questions and concerns and she never failed to respond once. Her responses were also on a very timely matter; usually within 24 hours! We didn’t use their inside catering, but still attended the tasting with our parents, which turned out to be a great little pre-wedding family outing. When we met about vendors, JSM had an amazing list compiled of the vendors they were used to working with. We chose to go with her recommendations with the DJ and the Florals. We were beyond happy with Pricanti Florals from Mayumi. Her work was not only the best priced, but the most beautiful flower arrangements by far out of the other vendors. JSM kept great communication with her, our DJ and our catering company. We were allowed to drop off majority of our decor the night before and plan out where everything would be going with JSM at our side. JSM’s crew did a spectacular job of orchestrating where everything went, even the things I said “please, just find a place.” haha. With her amazing planning and organization skills, I was able to relax the entire day and night before our wedding, confident and trusting in her and her staff.

When I arrived on the scene for our happily ever after, the coordinator greeted me with champagne in hand and helped to calm my nervous banter and stress. We were given free Range upstairs in the mansion to add our final touches, such as shoes and of course my dress. She communicated to our videographer and our photographer where the best shots would be and where my husband and I would be in separate areas, to allow them the best shot. While I was stressed looking for stuff that I may have left in the car, she and her staff did not mind me running around half naked on the property. (I’m not a shy person in the slightest.) When I was finally ready to take pre-wedding photos with my parents and my girls, the coordinator secured the area so that no boys (haha) would come in and see us. It was really helpful and less stressful to do the photos before hand. When it was the guys’ turn, she made sure I had left the scene so that my hubby would not see me before our wedding.

When it was finally time to walk down that aisle, the coordinator had our bridal party all lined up, even allowed them a few drinks before hand so that they would not panic. 🙂 IT was because of her organization with the rehearsal the day before, that our ceremony was spot on. All of our little details were perfectly displayed, our flowers were gently handled and taken care of, and our wedding party knew exactly when to stop and pose for pictures. JSM placed our harpist and our violinist in a spot that would be best without me even having to ask.

Once the I do’s were said and we had all exited the ceremony space, they were  there for us with drinks in hand for our entire bridal party. It was so nice to see how attentive they were to our party and family. I obviously didn’t make it out to the cocktail hour because my husband and I were taking photos, but from what I have heard, their servers made sure that every person had a bite to eat before dinner. The coordinator was running back and forward giving us up to the minute updates and how we were on schedule. This was amazing because time really does fly on our wedding day. She even served us herself when it was time for dinner and assured we had time to ourselves to kick back and enjoy our wedding. Her staff was super friendly and helpful to our guests and even gave them some quick fun facts behind the mansion. Throughout the night, she checked in with us to make sure we were happy and she was so flexible when it came to last minute changes, such as; preferring to do the bouquet toss in the tent instead of off the balcony. I had made our own wedding cake and dropped it off the night before, so she made sure it stayed refrigerated and fresh for the next day.

Why is this place amazing?
-While taking pictures the mansion is free to roam to all visitors. The decor and timeless artifacts around make such an old fashioned gala setting. The veranda room is by far our favorite!

-The new tent is absolutely spectacular! Hanging Chandeliers, beautiful chairs (not cheap ones like you normally see), for our guests, so spacious! It even has an adorable orange tree in the middle where they transferred photos we had on chairs down the aisle, to hang in the tree during the reception! 🙂

– Can use outside catering, no corkage fee on outside hard liquor, Great professional Staff, your friends and family will rave on about your wedding months later!

I’m sorry this note is somewhat delayed, but I hope you still are encouraged by its sentiment. Jonathan and I were so pleased with our day at the Mansion. You and your team really made us feel like we were special and unique. Generally, when a person does anything repeatedly for work it can sometimes become mundane, but you and your team are able to keep that magic and spark alive and use that experience to create efficiency and timeliness throughout the night. That is a very amazing talent !

You are also quite talented with a peacock wand, and I hope that one of those ended up in your hand as we left that night! 🙂

Our guests have continually spoken about the beauty of the day and the venue, and they have expressed their appreciation of the firm but cheerful instruction you communicate so well.

Overall, I hope you and Reed and all the helpers at JSM know we truly appreciate everything your did for us.

I am a wedding photographer, and I have not shot a more smooth wedding all year! JSM was so on top of everything that I didn’t have to take charge of the time line at all. There is nothing more valuable than a good wedding planner on such a hectic day. The venue is beautiful, the food is amazing and the coordinator will make your day go by without any issues.

This is an amazing venue! The coordinator was the nicest, most talented coordinator I’ve ever seen in action. She catered to everyone’s needs calmly and professionally, and always with a smile. All my guests loved everything about the venue – the mansion, the beautiful garden-like ceremony, and the huge and perfectly-decorated reception tent. The coordinator and her team did a phenomenal job accommodating the wedding party and guests. I definitely recommend this venue!

Our daughter quickly choose to book Jefferson Street Mansion after touring the building and grounds and meeting the coordinator, the venue concierge and all round Wonder Woman.

The wedding was held on 9/27/14 and all I can say is WOW! From first contact to last the coordinator was helpful, responsive and professional. All the staff were wonderful, polite, friendly and accommodating, especially Lindsey whom we first meet on rehearsal day and seemed to be in charge of setting up all the special areas and helping where needed. The food was fabulous (we used their in house caterer whom I highly recommend). We had probably more details then most weddings but they set everything up beautifully and with no problems. If there were any issues we were unaware.

The venue itself was perfect for the theme of the wedding which was vintage elegance. It’s a beautifully restored Civil War era officers mansion. It’s filled with lovely antiques and they have paid attention to all the details.

The reception area, although tented, once set up no longer seems like a tent. There are beautiful, ornate chandeliers, tables covered in to the floor double ivory linens, elegant chairs (not the typical folding chairs) lovely china and crystal and other wonderful touches all over. Everyone has a great view of the head table and dance floor.

Ceremony sight over looks the water, is mostly covered so can handle most weather, is surround by beautifully manicured grounds. Every guest I talked to volunteered how much they loved the venue, food, staff, the entire event. Many said it was the best wedding they had ever been to.

We could not have picked a better place and JSM made the experience problem free and one where I, as mother of the bride could just sit back and enjoy.

If I ever have another large event to host, this definitely is where I will go.

I can not say enough great things about JSM and the staff of JSM. As a MOTB, I am on cloud nine. My daughter and son-in-law had their wedding reception at the JSM last Friday night and it was beyond spectacular. The planning process was very easy going. JSM was very attentive to our questions and our needs, no matter what those needs were. The team has impeccable taste and knows how to keep a wedding reception flowing.They are very attentive to every detail. If you are searching for a beautiful venue, a top notch wedding facilitator, and a dedicated staff, choose the JSM!!!! There is no one that will work harder on behalf of a wedding couple. BTW….my daughter and son-in-law said their wedding day surpassed anything they could have imagined. 🙂 Cheers!

I would like to thank JSM for being such having a wonderful planner. I have had a few changes during my planning that were out of my hands, but she made things possible. During the wedding the venue, staff and food was well prepared. the coordinator has only been on time and responds very well. She is so great to work with. Our guests had such a pleasant experience. My sister’s wedding was here back in 2012 and it was one of the best wedding venues I have ever been to! I loved everything about the place. And the coordinator was the best! She was always there for anything we needed and was very helpful to the bride! She did an amazing job at making sure we were not stressing out and were enjoying ourselves. The food was amazing and decor was even better. It was a very hot day but they had fans throughout the tent and the drinks kept coming so we were not dehydrating. I enjoyed everything about this place and being able to have the bride get ready in the room upstairs was awesome! I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

One summer, I went to not one, not two, but THREE different weddings. None of which were my own, which further made me feel like the sad, lonely spinster that I am probably destined to become. I went to all three of these joyous affairs with BATT, and suffice it to say that the declaration of all this love did not push him in the direction of declaring his own love (and I used that term loosely) to me.

In terms of the venues of the three weddings, I felt kind of like Goldilocks. One took place in a small hotel that amounted to little more than a church basement atmosphere (although that couple was the cutest); one took place on a cliff overlooking the ocean, with the reception in a large, lavish hotel (that couple is now getting divorced); and one was just right at the Jefferson Street Mansion.

The ceremony itself was on one side of the mansion, outside on the grass, and the reception was on the other side under a tent. Although this was the first of the three weddings I attended that summer (and the one where I liked the bride the least), I had a good time. There was adequate dance space, the food wasn’t bad, and I don’t even remember the service – which is good because they were so non-intrusive.

Of course, if BATT and I had worked out, we couldn’t have had our wedding here because technically the betrothed were his friends, but now that we’re broken up, I can definitely consider it for my future husband.

Now, how many more beds to I have to lay in to find him?

I got married here on May 10, 2014 and it was my dream come true. ‘the venue coordinator is absolutely amazing and has been from the beginning. When ever I had a question she was quick to reply and made sure we were taken care of! I have a one-year-old and the coordinator was beyond great with her. She entertained her while everyone ate and even fed her, which I’m completely grateful for. It’s not often I get to eat in peace LOL!
This venue is beyond beautiful and I kept getting compliments all night.

When I first set eyes on JSM I knew it was the “one”. The views walking down the aisle are breathtaking as well as the decor.

On the big day I felt like a princess and was treated exceptionally well by the staff. At one point I had gotten red lipstick on my hand right before i was to walk down the aisle and the coordinator’s daughter quickly got me a wet towel and helped me scrub my hand LOL! Anything I needed they were there to help! I cannot express enough how much I love this venue. I highly recommend it!

The very best wedding venue and the coordinator is the best wedding planner! We were thrilled with our 10-13 wedding. It just could not have been more fun, relaxing, delightful in every way. Brian and I were very relaxed and at ease from the beginning of the day to saying good night to everyone. No tears and no frustrations — not a one! Just a very fun, happy wedding day. Many of our guests said that it was the most enjoyable wedding they had ever experienced, and we feel the same way!

The team of vendors was absolutely top notch. The coordinator’s mother is an elegant, caring, and totally confident officiant. The best. Terry Newberry, our DJ, was superb as our Master of Ceremony for the dinner and dancing. Mayumi Miyata is a fabulously artistic, helpful, and conscientious flower designer. Elliott of Lynds Photography was a very friendly, capable and efficient photographer. The in-house caterer provided an exquisite buffet. Susie Cakes of Lafayette made a very creative, beautiful and delicious wedding cake!

MY WEDDING
This is the most amazing place. The staff is amazing. The coordinator made my special day go like a breeze in the wind. You was there with us all the way from start to finish. SUCH A BEAUTIFUL WEDDING AND GREAT STAFF TO WORK!!
When I had to find a new venue for our wedding 4 months before our date, Jefferson Street Mansion came to our rescue! The venue is absolutely beautiful. It’s not just a venue…it is an experience! The owner Reed, has very meticulously restored the Mansion and grounds. We had our reception outside with a picturesque view in the background and danced through the night under lights in their cool open tented area. Included in the facility rental is a day of coordinator, whose upbeat personality and experience just puts you at ease and assures you that everything is taken care of. The food was amazing, the spare ribs are a must! Our wedding day was a dream come true and an event that our guests are still talking about!

THE PERFECT PLACE
The Jefferson Street Mansion was a perfect little gem we found. We originally thought getting married in Benicia wasn’t going to be elegant or beautiful enough. We were wrong!!!! The mansion was the perfect spot and was gorgeous. All of our 260 guests said they were blown away by the mansion and fell in love with it. I can not recommend this place enough!!!!

GOURGEOUS AND INCREDIBLE STAFF!
My husband and I were married at JSM on July 17, 2010. Everything was perfect… the mansion selects fantastic vendors and they also make sure that the vendors coordinate with one another so that everything runs smoothly on the day of the wedding and throughout the planning process. Our guests all said that our wedding was the most fun wedding that they had ever been to and we had a blast! Reed, the owner, and coordinator, were so friendly and did everything they could to make the planning easy and stress-free. I would recommend this vendor to anyone who wants to enjoy their wedding day and celebrate without having to worry about anything on the day of the wedding… except saying “I do” 🙂

JEFFERSON STREET MANSION, THE BEST!
I got married on September 18th 2010. From the moment I stepped into the mansion I knew it was perfect! The staff was so amazing and supportive throughout the entire process. They are so helpful and they do anything you need. They put a bride’s mind at ease by not “sweating the small stuff” because you know they have already thought of it! The guest count was approx 150 and the whole day went off perfectly! There were no problems at all, and If there was I did not know about it. That’s the way it’s supposed to be. They even recommended vendors to me that are familiar with the venue and that made the day go a lot smoother to. I could not ask for a better wedding coordinator. JSM is amazing!

It has been almost a year since we were married at this beautiful most perfect place. Every time we watch our wedding video it just reminds us of how perfect our wedding was, it could not have gone any better. We looked at a few different places before finding the Jefferson mansion. We just knew it when we walked in there, that feeling when you just know.

Where do I start! I’m going to start with the coordinator. She from the beginning was so kind, so helpful, and was ALWAYS there when I had a question about ANYTHING! I don’t think I could have done my wedding there without her. Not because she is from New Jersey, and so is my husband’s family, and that they are both eagles fans! Which we found out later… but it just made it that much more special! Renée was wonderful to work with in every aspect of our wedding.

The actual venue speaks for itself. It’s gorgeous, elegant, I loved everything about it. It was absolutely perfect, and exactly how I envisioned our wedding to be. The day of, you do not need to worry about setting up anything, they will do it all for you, so no need to stress about that.

I just want to say that you get what you pay for. Yes it’s a little on the pricier side but its so worth every minute. Everything about our wedding was perfect. Everyone to this day talks about how our wedding was THE best wedding they have ever been to. From the open bar, to the delicious food, to the atmosphere, it was. I am so happy that we had our wedding here, I recommend this place one thousand times! If I could rate it a thousand stars, I would 🙂 thank you to JSM and her staff for making our day perfect.

We were married at JSM on 9/21/2013 (this past weekend.) I surely hope rain is good luck because it poured right up until our ceremony started. We visited this place back in January and quickly booked it because not only did we fall in love with the mansion, but the coordinator Bragg as well. She is the event coordinator there and her enthusiasm, professionalism, and love for what she does is contagious.

Once I met the coordinator and saw what the mansion could offer us, I was sold. From the moment we gave our deposit, it was an absolutely flawless process. Our expectations were not only met, but were far exceeded. Like I mentioned above, it rained on our special day- so much that our ceremony had to be moved to the reception tent because the grass was too wet. This Bummed me out at first because I was in love with the outdoor ceremony space- but Renée was so organized and creative that it turned out beautifully. Also, the coordinator, being the wonderful person she is, even sent me a text the morning of the wedding letting me know she had plan A, B, C and D in place, and would not let a little rain stop us from having a perfect day- and she was right.

The food was delicious, the champagne was flowing, and the Mansion was a hit with the guests. We still have people telling us it was the most beautiful, fun wedding they’ve ever been to. The staff was quick, non-intrusive, and professional. They treated us truly like a King and Queen.

The JSM was a beautiful site for our wedding and reception. We are straight to the point kind of people and everything was just that. Everything was pretty straight forward, and since I am not a picky person, it was helpful to have someone with past experience with running weddings handle the details for us. Our guests had a great time, and kept stating how beautiful our event was, and how delicious the food was (which was provided by their caterers). We would gladly recommend this place to others.

I went to a friend’s wedding in August of 2012 and let me tell you, everything at the mansion from food to the decorations! everything about the mansion is sooo pretty! The service was beyond wonderful, the history of the mansion has a good story too. Everything is so clean and they really made sure the bride’s wishes came true! i HIGHLY recommended the mansion for anyone who is planning a wedding 🙂 I love this place!!

I am a little (a lot) late on writing a review for my daughter’s wedding at the Jefferson Street Mansion on 8/25/2012.

OMG!!!!

JSM and  staff are the best. The place is beautiful. The food was fab.

Once the vendors arrive the coordinator takes over. She takes care of everything.

Wedding rehearsal 3 days before the wedding, and dropped everything off for the bride to get ready for that special day then a seating chart and name cards. The only thing that had to be done was the flowers that morning of the wedding. All we had to do that day was to show up.

They have one wedding a day. So if your special day is in the morning, afternoon or evening that day is booked only for you.

The coordinator will give you all the prices up front. She tells you what extra they can do, and how much it will cost. She also informs you how to cut a lot of the cost. We were on a budget. You can’t beat the price on having one place who has and does everything. Venue, food, drinks, seating, tables, napkins, glasses, silverware, plates, etc. plus all the other things that have to be rented.

Did you know that after you buy that big ass cake, that the caterer charges you to cut the cake by the slice. Not the JSM, that’s part of their service.

If I had a million dollars to spend on her wedding we would still have it at the JSM.

We just got married here 10/7/12 and it was an amazing day. The coordinator is like a family member to us, she made all of our dreams come true. Friends and family can’t stop talking about how amazing this place is. I had the best day, everything went smooth, no stress. Prior to the wedding all my calls and emails where answered in a prompt matter and the coordinator was so wonderful at making sure all details where covered. This place is amazing but she really makes everything happen for you. She is a very special person who loves what she does and it shows!! Thank you JSM!!!

My husband and I got married here on September 8, 2012.

We first checked out the mansion in Aug of 2011 and immediately feel in love with the atmosphere as well as the coordinator!

I emailed inquiring about the cost and received an email back in a timely manner, we were able to schedule an appt to view the mansion a few weeks after.

We knew as soon as we left the mansion that this was were we wanted to get married. Although the cost was a little steep, you only get married once (hopefully), we signed our contract by the end of Aug. and sent in our first payment. Between Aug and January I had emailed/phoned  the coordinator a few times with questions and she got back to me quickly. We sent in our second payment in January and from January on the coordinator was always a phone call or email away.

She sent us a packet with local vendors and everything we needed to know. She was helpful with ideas and what works well versus what will most likely not work at all.

On the day of our wedding it couldn’t have gone better.

I cannot say enough how amazing and helpful  the mansion staff were. Every time they saw me they were asking if I was ok or needed anything.

Every guest that I have spoken to says that was one of the best weddings they have ever attended and although I know I had a lot to do with it due to planning a majority myself I cannot take all the credit, the JSM staff  made the day perfect! They were helpful and professional.

A lot of brides say they weren’t able to enjoy their wedding day. I however, can say that I definitely enjoyed mine and it was all thanks to the JSM staff  for taking care of the guests and little things that needed to be taken care of the day of.

 

We thank you for allowing us to have this dream wedding! And girl we will replace that nasty yelp review!! You wait and see lol

I got married here 09/01/12 and it was the most wonderful,amazing, and pain free experience ever.  The coordinator aka “nay-nay!” (what my bridesmaids & I nicknamed her! lol)… was a doll! If I ever had any questions, she was quick to respond in a timely manner. The venue is gorgeous, the pictures do not do it justice.

The day of the wedding everything was so organized and beautiful, it was like a dream. Everyone was so helpful and literally treated me like a queen! Just like a Bride should be treated! I have gotten sooo many wonderful comments from friends and family on the wedding venue and the food. So many have said it was the most beautiful wedding they have ever been to. I would highly recommend!

My Wedding Reception – Friday September 7th, 2012.

I was just happily married less than a week ago and our day was PERFECT!. My husband and I are locals to the area and he had grown up in Benicia. We found JSM and I loved it (being a history teacher I thought it was the perfect backdrop).Â

We had our ceremony at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church with Father John Marie and a short drive (less than 5 minutes) everyone was at JSM.

Now lets rewind – Prior to the wedding day I thought everything went smooth and great. When Tony had to leave the country in June and wouldn’t return until 2 weeks before the wedding, Renée met with us and got things squared away. I am a big email person and Renée returned every one of my emails in a reasonable time. As with all vendors – READ YOUR CONTRACTS. I am the Student Activities Director at the high school I work at and plan our homecomings, dances, proms, etc. JSM contract was nothing out of the ordinary. They have a great spot and want to protect it so hence the security deposit and vendor contracts. No biggie though.

Now I’ve read the reviews and one in particular mentioned Renée as “pushy”. Our response to that is  – well yeah! Duh! The woman is from Jersey and that’s one of the reasons we went with JSM cause I knew the day of my wedding I didn’t want to have to be a cop but I wanted things to run smoothly and timely so I thought Renée was perfect. The night of – she was our bulldog (I say that with love). We had a zero kid policy and let me tell you Renée handled it! As polite as she could be too. She was organized and diligent in carrying out her tasks. As a planner – I LOVED IT. And to keep it real – sometimes our guests need to be told hey back-off let the two enjoy dinner. She remembered little details that I appreciated. She kept the show moving.

The night was seriously perfect. I had so much fun. The FOOD WAS DELICIOUS and HOT! We got compliments on the Bar, Staff, Renée, the food , etc. She worked great with my vendors and the place looked and smelled great!

I have no complaints and I can’t thank Renée and the JSM staff enough. Your wedding day will be as great as you want it to be. BUT, YOU have to be organized. If you aren’t organized- any venue can only do so much.

Now, almost 1 week later- we are just waiting for our security deposit back. Hopefully no damages:)

Do I recommend this place: 100% YES!

My wedding reception was held at JSM, July 2012. I come from a large family, and so does my husband. When pricing out venues, it became overwhelming with the added costs: i.e. table linens, centerpieces, chairs, food, etc. Many people suggested we look at the mansion. I was hesitant but since we were having no luck elsewhere we thought it couldn’t hurt. As soon as we drove up to the mansion I fell in love. I couldn’t believe I had been living in this town for 25 years and wasn’t familiar with his beautiful venue.

We were greeted by Renée and given a tour and provided with all the details. I was immediately drawn to Renée’s energetic and professional attitude. She answered and addressed every question and concern that we had. One of my main concerns was our large guest list. Renée assured me they could make it work and would have an adequate amount of staff to ensure everything ran smoothly.

I have heard from some brides their frustrations with hidden costs from other venues. However, with JSM Renée spelled out everything we would be paying for from the very beginning. There were no hidden costs, and no surprises on the final bill.

I did not have a wedding planner, as I did the majority of the planning with each individual vendor. However, with Renée it felt as though I had one. With my worry-wart personality, I was in constant communication with Renée and all my vendors to make sure everything was set. Renée told me from the beginning she was only a phone call away; she couldn’t be more correct. I never had a problem getting in contact with her, as she was always quick to respond to my calls or emails. As a bride, there is nothing worse than trying to get in contact with a vendor and not hearing back. With JSM I did not experience that problem. Renée even took it upon herself to contact our cake baker to confirm delivery time and how much space was needed.

When I arrived at JSM on my wedding day, Renée was directing traffic to make sure everything was in place like we had discussed. All the staff members were friendly and extremely professional. Renée checked in with me various times throughout the night to see if there was anything I needed. The flow of the evening was absolutely seamless, and I know that was because of her organization. I was able to enjoy my wedding day without having to worry about anything.

With large families, there are bound to be some tough critics. I am pleased that we have heard nothing but great things about our reception. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and were very impressed with JSM. I would highly recommend this venue to any bride.

Renee, the concierge, throughout the whole process from first appoint to tour the mansion to the end of the event was always responsive, very helpful, connecting and professional. As the mother of the bride it was wonderful to be able to come and just enjoy. Her staff did all the setting up of everything and took down and packed it all after.Â

We did and have continued to receive many compliments on how beautiful the venue was, the delicious food and drinks, and how well it all flowed. It was a truly magical experience.

After looking and looking for venues we decided on the Jefferson street mansion. They were very accommodating to our needs and wants. Renée worked with me on everything and the end result was just breath taking! The price is good and the food is simply one of the best “wedding foods” ever(according to my guests as well as my husband and I ) we are so happy to have picked the mansion as our venue.

Everything went so smooth and according to plan. Renée was great, responsive, regimented and got the wedding going perfectly! The food was great (which was very important to us) and we got to have our open bar at such a deal. Everything was within our budget and we were so happy with the results as were our guests. Beautiful place, great food, friendly and professional staff, and highly recommend (especially if you’re a budget bride who wants minimal stress)!

My Daughter and her husband were married at JSM on 4-9-11. It was a most magical day for all. The grounds and the mansion are maintained to perfection. It is like stepping into living history. How wonderful to have this incredible venue in my own hometown. Benicia is proud and lucky to have a woman like Reed that has been so involved in the preservation of this town’s history. Not only with the mansion but other projects and committees she has been involved with over the years.

The food and the service were 5 star. Everything was fresh, delicious and displayed beautifully. The venue was large enough to accomodate our party of 190 easily. Our guests were comfortable and at ease to enjoy the entire property. Which they did while waiting for the photo’s to finish so the real party could begin.

Don’t know what I would have done without Renée. She answered questions, answered e-mails and was totally available during the months leading up to the wedding. Day of……She was everywhere. I didn’t have to worry about a thing. I was able to enjoy the day and to remember each moment. I thank them both for helping to create the perfect wedding for my Daughter and my new Son.

The JSM is not inexpensive, but it is a very good value. Our wedding cost around $20,000, but several guests estimated it to be a $50,000 or even $100,000 wedding. The JSM provides a truly unique and extremely elegant location for both the ceremony and the reception. Check out their website for more info.

I recently had my wedding at the JSM and I couldn’t be happier. As far as I know everything went PERFECTLY!! and I say as far as I know because Renée (JSM coordinator) wouldn’t let my day go any other way 🙂 The venue is perfectly set up to have the ceremony and reception back to back. With the beautiful mansion my guests were entertained while the bridal party took their pictures.

We had met with Renée numerous times and she was always available by phone for questions. She knew exactly what we wanted and made sure it happened. JSM also recommended some great vendors that I thank them for!

The food was absolutely AMAZING!!! I couldn’t tell you how many people kept repeating “by far the best food at a wedding… ever” 🙂 Kendra (Renée’s daughter) also was a huge help on our special day. She catered to the head table, making sure everyone had drinks and was satisfied with their food. She personally served Sean and I, too! We felt like royalty at the JSM and wouldn’t have had our wedding day any other way 🙂

People say Renée may be controlling…. and I thank her from the bottom of my heart forever and ever for getting my guests fed in a timely manner, and making sure everything was more than perfect on our day… that includes the bouquet toss, garter toss, cake cutting! I probably would have forgot to do those things but she made sure the DJ (Terry Newberry) was on top of announcements!!!

JSM is a beautiful venue, has amazing food and service, and you won’t be disappointed! It may be a little pricey… but when it comes to a wedding you get what you pay for! and if you want a fantasy wedding….. call the JSM!!!

My husband and I got married at the beautiful Jefferson Street Mansion last weekend and we were so pleased with our choice of venue. The grounds of JSM (where most of the ceremony and reception take place) are gorgeous and the natural feel helps to offset what might come across as an over the top interior. On the night of our wedding, the tent, which is permanently there, was open on all sides so it really felt wonderful and created a magical atmosphere that our guests and we adored.

Renée is the person you deal with the most when planning and executing your wedding there and she is a treasure. You don’t need to hire a wedding coordinator–she will be one for you, especially in terms of day of–she has done hundreds of weddings at JSM and will happily give you advice on how to make yours come off well. She makes sure everything happens and is a drill sergeant, but is so friendly and kind, especially to you and your guests, that she makes it all seem pleasant and effortless.

With JSM, you need to know what you’re getting into–what you pay will cover all the service, catering (go with their house caterer–people love the food overall and it’s so much easier), much of the decor (all the table/serving ware and just ambience created by little touches like string lights in the tent, etc.) so you can skimp on floral, and all the alcohol you need (they provide wine, sparkling, and beers on tap; we added two signature cocktails that they served at no extra charge beyond our providing the alcohol & mixers). So the cost, which is not cheap, really covers almost everything. Besides JSM we only paid for cake, florist, dj, and officiant. For us, not having to chase down a million different vendors or coordinate anything on the day of was totally worth it. While we might have been able to bargain/select individually cheaper elements (such as catering), when you figure in having to pay and deal with each vendor individually, we felt that we could not have done the same type of event at a similar style of venue for less (and when we did the budgeting it seemed likely we would end up paying more).

Overall, we were so happy with our experience and recommend JSM highly, with the caveat that you know your budget and are okay giving over control of selecting every single vendor as much comes as part of the JSM package.

My company had its holiday party at The Mansion. It couldn’t have been better. We had the entire Pavilion and Mansion to ourselves — touring The Mansion is an experience on its own. The authenticity of all the artifacts is amazing. For a history buff like me, I could have spent weeks looking at everything. The holiday decor (according to my wife) was beyond a Dicken’s fairy tale.

While this venue is mainly used for weddings, it has the ability to welcome corporate groups with ease. We will come back time after time….for retirement celebrations and for off-site meetings.

Food is fabulous and the staff superb.

My husband and I had our wedding here on October 8, 2011. This was truly a day to remember and one we will cherish forever. When judging whether or not a wedding was successful people normally look at the following:
1) Ambiance
2) Food/beverage
3) Entertainment
4) Location

Throughout the wedding and even till this day I’ve heard nothing but great things from our guests. They used words like PERFECT, AMAZING, COULDN’T ASK FOR MORE…..the list of positive comments goes on and on.
It’s hard to find a place that offers a caterer that actually serves GOOD food….seriously.  We had the braised short ribs and salmon for the main course. The short ribs were amazing….the salmon was ok. The side of potato soufflé was to die for….and the salad was delicious.  The best part was that we had open bar all night!!
The mansion allows for entertainment other than a DJ. We had a six piece Latin band who rocked the house all night!
Location..location..location. Our family is all over the bay area and this was a perfect central location for all.

What didn’t make the list was the coordinator. Â She deserves special recognition of her own for going above and beyond what we could have ever expected. We didn’t have to pay an extra fee for her services although I would have if we had to!! Renée made our day seamless. It went so smooth and I did not stress for one minute that day because of her and her wonderful staff. Â

If you are looking for a wedding venue where you don’t have to do the leg work yourself you should seriously consider this place. Â And if price is a concern…..this place gave us more for our money than any of the country clubs around the bay area could offer (no extra cost for nice utensils, table clothes, chairs, center pieces, decor, etc).

My beautiful cousin Daniela was set to marry her prince charming, Phillip specifically here.  I must say, this beats any hotel ceremony/reception unity location.  Very intimate, personal, classy, yet simple and elegant.. need I say more? LOL.  Food style was great.. buffet..open bar.. (oh yeah OPEN BAR!). LOL.  The mansion was very well kept, except it does look a little creepy.  =/ but being a wedding made it all worth experiencing a great time with great people.  From what I hear, you were able to tour the mansion.  But I passed, because one, I was scared SH**less, two, being tipsy I probably would of scared myself. I cannot put into words what my experience was like here… it was all in all just PERFECT. (setting, ambiance, décor, weather, staff members, food, drinks, guests, PHOTO BOOTH, family and friends).  I don’t think Phillip and Daniela could of asked for anything more.  Congrats to the newlyweds MR. & MRS. PARASIDIS. Â

I was just married there in Sept 2011. The venue was amazing for the ceremony and reception. The grounds were beautiful for all the photos. The mansion was a cool place for guests to explore. The preferred caterer’s food was excellent. The overall experience was wonderful. It was worth the price for my wife to say that she was totally satisfied.

The thing that set it over the top for both of us was the wedding coordinator, Renée. She was fantastic. She did everything and more than we expected. She catered to all of our needs and took care of issues that arose discreetly with us only finding out about them after the wedding.

The mansion was beautiful, bathrooms and bar were both in first floor which was very accommodating. Â The service was great, no rushing to get your plate and the food was good. We attended a wedding here and we just loved it.

The grounds are beautiful, there are statues and benches snuggled in under large shade trees transporting you back to a time when life was slower and lovely things were cherished.

The mansion itself is beautiful inside and out. There are so many lovely things to look at. Every room is amazing with period pieces and rich lovely tapestries and polished wood.

The food was served in an outdoor tent with chandeliers and statues throughout. I loved the table decorations which alternated with large ostrich feathers and roses immersed in water in clear vases. I particularly liked the caprese salad; it was beautiful to look at and tasted wonderful.

Renée and her staff were wonderful. They were professional, prompt, and incredibly helpful.

I had a lot of fun; I would celebrate an event here in the future.

As promised in my last review I am telling you about my wedding on August 26th at the Jefferson Street Mansion in Benicia. WOW….I am still reeling with excitement and you couldn’t take the smile off my face if you tried. From the minute I stepped onto the property I was guided and treated like royalty. I was escorted to the bridal chamber where my veil and gown were draped from the four poster bed and it looked more beautiful than I could ever imagine. The owner of JSM greeted me with a team of professionals who took over and were at my beck and call every moment of the day. It seemed like I thought of something and before I could ask, it was there…now that is service! As I approached the veranda to make my appearance I observed the guests arriving and being guided to their seats beneath the beautifully decorated arbor and the Delta waters were giving off a serene and peaceful aura. The atmosphere with its elegance and beauty set the tone for what was to be the most perfect day in my life. Cocktails flowed, hors d’ were passed and the dinner was absolutely delicious. The caterer met all of my pallet expectations. I thought I would have to direct the reception with all my requests but once again the JSM coordinator who choreographed everything with my DJ Josh (Strawberry Fields) and photographer Ken Perkes did not have to bother me or my parents for any details. I didn’t have to worry about ONE thing. Each and everything I had on my itinerary was met with professionalism. I want to thank every person on the JSM team from the owner, coordinator and wait staff for giving me the “Perfect Wedding”.

My daughter was recently married at Jefferson Street Mansion. My daughter can be very picky but when she saw this venue she fell in love with it. I have never had so many compliments from friends and family as to how much fun they had and how perfect the wedding was including decorations, food and drink. The coordinator, Renée was very easy to work with. She gave advice but also listened to our family as to what my daughter wanted. She even changed table seatings at the last minute on the day of the ceremony. The entire staff was very helpful. I feel very blessed to have found this place and to work with Renée. She definitely made my job as the mother of the bride very easy. Without her help, I don’t know how I would have done it. Thank you Renée.

I am getting married on August 26th and after my long journey I am so excited. I had planned and booked my wedding for last year and then had to postpone to this year, which meant I visited the site three years ago. Through all this time and changes, the Concierge Captain Renée has been consistently wonderful to work with, however I have never worked with the owners, they are very friendly and professional, just not involved with the actual planning. Oh and the response time with my numerous calls and emails; it is weird, like someone has a bet of how fast they can answer! lol. At first I wanted a Saturday, but did not have the guest count, or budget for the 150 requirement, even this worked out great, since I have the entire weekend to spend with out of town family and the funds to go on a great honeymoon. My fiance and I had looked at other facilities, actually many, we found the cost of $7 per hour for unlimited alcohol and drinks more than fair. And for what is included for the catering cost, especially after the incredible tasting event, totally reasonable. The site provides ivory linens, however my theme is charcoal and pomegranate, so I am using shimmery toppers, went over last week to do a dry run….gorgeous and they are so flexible with working my tastes into the theme of the site. They also provide centerpieces, but I have my own. All the rest rooms and cocktail tables have flowers to match the brides and even the center fountain area has flowers planted each week to match the bride’s, which the site provides free of charge. 16 days and counting, will report on my wonderful day….Janelle H.

My husband and I got married as JSM July 2010 and had an absolutely amazing wedding! Everything about the wedding (the staff, location, business interactions) was phenomenal. JSM was so flexible in working with me to ensure that I had the wedding I had always envisioned. To that end, they helped make sure all of our guests’ cultural dietary needs were met (as we had three different caterers/international cuisines served that day!). Their attention to details (like mine!) was impeccable! All of our guests mentioned what a great time they had! The location is beautiful (which is what we fell in love with and sold us on the place)! Overall, JSM makes wedding planning a great and easy experience. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND JSM for your wedding venue due to their excellence in service and standards!

I got Married June 4th at the Jefferson Street Mansion! what an amazing historical beautiful Venue. I loved every moment of my wedding day. I had planned an outside wedding and it rained cats and dogs but the wedding turned out absolutely gorgeous. The wedding coordinator Renée Brag was amazing she was always a phone call away from day one if I needed anything or any advice. If you’re a bride and looking for a sure thing for an amazing beautiful wedding then this is your place. The venue is affordable and the staff is amazing. Initially I was hoping it would not rain but you can’t control mother nature and it is supposed to be good luck!! Rain or shine the Mansion is gorgeous and the staff is ready to make any situation work. I got nothing but positive feed back from my guests and family. All had a great time, thought it was beautiful and said the service and food was amazing. There are plenty of bathrooms inside and out of the Mansion, and plenty of parking for guests. The Mansion provides linens, china, beautiful chairs, candles, centerpieces, easels and there are several chandeliers. So you don’t have to rent all that stuff — WHAT A HUGE SAVINGS!
Guests have access to inside the Mansion and outside. The rooms inside the Mansion are gorgeous and the bridal suite is very unique and all the furniture is antique and gorgeous. This venue is definitely a class act!

The Mansion looked spectacular. We had not imagined that it could look any more beautiful than when we first saw it. The veranda made for a comfortable gathering spot for our guests before the ceremony, as well as a grand entrance for the bride. One guest called it “The hidden gem of Benicia.”

Reed, you have done an amazing job restoring the mansion and we thank you for sharing it. The attention to detail in each room is incredible. It was fun to see Facebook pictures of guests posing inside the mansion.

The food both looked and tasted fantastic. Excellent presentation! The dessert bar was to die for. The champagne got rave reviews.
And Renée, thanks to you for guiding us through the entire day and taking the time to make sure all our guests had a great time. You have an incredible staff. The vendors you work with are first class. It was the perfect wedding. We truly enjoyed working with both of you. You are the best.

We attended a wedding here June. It is an amazing place. The grounds are beautiful and the Mansion is as elegant as any place we’ve ever seen.

Unfortunately the weather didn’t cooperate and when the outdoor ceremony had to be moved inside. The Coordinator, Renée, with her staff made it happen seamlessly. Before we knew it, the ceremony was moved to the Pavilion, an absolutely amazing setting.

There isn’t one square inch of the Mansion that isn’t appointed beautifully and authentically.

Renée and her staff are top notch. They are professional and pay attention to every detail. We would recommend The Mansion to anyone!

My Daughter and her husband were married at JSM on 4-9-11. It was a most magical day for all. The grounds and the mansion are maintained to perfection. It is like stepping into living history. How wonderful to have this incredible venue in my own hometown. Benicia is proud and lucky to have a woman like Reed that has been so involved in the preservation of this town’s history. Not only with the mansion but other projects and committees she has been involved with over the years.

The food and the service were 5 star. Everything was fresh, delicious and displayed beautifully. The venue was large enough to accommodate our party of 190 easily. Our guests were comfortable and at ease to enjoy the entire property. Which they did while waiting for the photo’s to finish so the real party could begin.

Don’t know what I would have done without Renée’. She answered questions, answered e-mails and was totally available during the months leading up to the wedding. Day of……She was everywhere. I didn’t have to worry about a thing. I was able to enjoy the day and to remember each moment. I thank them both for helping to create the perfect wedding for my Daughter and my new Son.

My husband and I were married at JSM on 4/23/11. The entire day was absolutely magical. I couldn’t have asked for a better dream wedding. The mansion is stunning, the grounds are beautifully green and in bloom and the photo opportunities there are uncomparable. My photographer showed me just a few shots of what she took and I am thrilled to see how fantastically they turned out. Can’t wait for the rest!

Our wedding was planned in a matter of 5 1/2 short months (with Christmastime and the holidays in between). My grandma was terminally ill and we wanted her to be with us on our special day, so we picked a date only a few months after we were engaged. Anyone can imagine the stress of planning a fairly good sized wedding (125 ppl) in less than 6 months… Renée, the coordinator, was exceptionally helpful. I often referred to myself in our e-mails as “the pest” because of the amount of questions I had. She was always so kind, so willing to help, and extremely quick with her responses. In the beginning, when we first booked our date and put our deposit down, she said to me, “Welcome to the JSM family!” Boy was she right. She treated all of us, bride, groom, parents, bridal party, vendors, etc., as nothing but family. We got the ‘red carpet treatment.’ Unfortunately, my grandma passed away about 4 weeks before the day of the wedding, but I know she was BEAMING up there watching us get married in such an incredibly fantastic place, with the best people.

Jefferson Street Mansion, and the people who work there, made our wedding everything that I was ever imagining it to be and so much more.

I didn’t feel rushed, I knew our guests were having a great time, that everything would be simply wonderful. And thank you so much for whomever found Bella’s necklace & put it with James’ mother’s corsage. I had personally made hers & mine matching necklaces & felt awful when I realized I had forgotten it on our table. I had thought for sure something so small had just been swept up in all of the cleaning, so you can imagine my surprise and delight when I was unpacking everything and found it. My husband and I were married at the mansion on July 17, 2010. Everything was perfect! The mansion’s catering is delicious with incredible attention to detail in the way the food is presented. The service staff was friendly and attentive. The location is gorgeous and well maintained. When my husband and I arrived at the mansion on the day of our wedding, even we were surprised at how beautiful and fairytale-like it was.

The mansion’s coordinators are extremely professional and experienced in wedding planning, so my husband and I were able to do all of the planning from San Diego, where we live. We did not have to worry about anything during the planning process because the coordinators had thought of everything and contacted us when specific deadlines were approaching. The coordinators also worked closely with our other vendors to make sure that everyone was on the same page and everything ran smoothly on the day of the wedding. There were no surprises regarding the costs of the wedding, but remember that any venue you select does have a substantial service charge that needs to be included in the budget!

On the day of the wedding, my husband and I were able to relax and have fun without any concerns… which was great because we knew absolutely nothing about wedding schedules or traditions when we got engaged! The mansion staff guided us through the entire day and they were not at all invasive. All of our guests had a fabulous time; many told us that it was the best wedding they’d ever attended. We have nothing but fond memories (and magazine-worthy photographs) of our wedding day and it wouldn’t have been possible without Jefferson Street Mansion.

Also if you decide to get married at this venue, don’t be afraid to ask the coordinators for their advice about anything wedding-related… they have planned so many weddings at the mansion that they know what works the best and will ensure that your day is just as perfect as ours was.

What a perfect wedding reception! The event was flawless! Renée – you did such a great job anticipating needs – like a glass of champagne as soon as I arrived, searching me out so I could bustle the bride’s dress, and making sure the Grandmothers were taken care of. Thank you for having Van Noy’s catering on your preferred list! The food was delicious and we received many favorable comments. Mike especially liked the baked brie and apricot cheese display and found his way to that table several times. The raspberry in each champagne glass was an elegant touch which added a delightful delicate flavor and colorful display.

The setting was storybook from the bride’s dressing room to the mansion and grounds. Mike and I were thoroughly able to relax and enjoy our family and friends. Many people told us it was the best wedding reception they had ever attended – that’s quite a statement.

Even my brother commented, “that lady really knows what she’s doing”. Thank you for our preparation meetings and tastings, they really gave us a complete sense of confidence that you would have everything covered – and you did. The preparation process also provided an opportunity to know you both which helped create a personal connection. My wife and I attended my niece’s (Melissa Aoanan-Menendez) wedding reception at your place on Saturday, September 12, 2009. We are from St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada and it was a wonderful opportunity for us to witness a church wedding and reception California style. We happen to be wedding planners preparing the church marriage ceremony (Catholic liturgy) and emceeing the reception usually held in one of our local hotels’ banquet halls. We never held a wedding or an anniversary celebration at a mansion like your beautiful and historic place.

The first thing we observed as we arrived at your location was the overall courtesy of your Staff in welcoming guests and answering questions about the reception and the mansion. We were made comfortable and ushered to the “tent” reception hall which was appropriately decorated for the happy celebration to follow.

We saw a beautiful and professional lady–whose name we did not know at the time–walking to and fro the banquet hall and the mansion making sure everything was all right. We correctly guessed that she must be in charge of the banquet. She was also conferring with the personnel in charge of the “punch bowl” and drinks, the table servers and the Dee Jay when he arrived. I was curious and spoke with the young gentleman Dee Jay who introduced himself to me and answered my queries. He showed me the program detailed with notes and sequences to follow during the reception as he was also the emcee.

From our experience as wedding coordinators and emcees, the person in charge has to think fast and act efficiently to make sure that everything happens according to plan; however, she/he has to adapt to circumstances that happen unexpectedly, for example, time when the bridal entourage arrives, getting all the guests arriving or touring the mansion gathered into the banquet hall at the right moment and talking to the table servers to make sure that everything was okay from guests being seated to the buffet-style dinner being ready to conferring with the Dee Jay for the introduction of the bridal party to checking her/his watch all the time.

This was Ms. Renée Bellison’s multitasking with a friendly and welcoming smile. She always conferred with the bride’s father (my youngest brother) and mother about everything and accommodated their desires and concerns. Renée had the flexibility to make timely adjustments to ensure that everything went well.

Indeed, the reception, dinner and celebration that followed were a success to the satisfaction and enjoyment of everybody, most specially the newlyweds, their parents, and their bridal party. The dancing and slideshow capped the wonderful evening.
One humorous thing happened. I thought people were calling me only to find out that they were asking for Renée. You see, my first name is Rene.

My wife and I saw a beautiful church wedding in Concord, CA and a wonderful reception in Benicia, CA at your historic mansion.
We have high praises for Ms. Renée Bellison and her Staff: ” job well done!”

Dear, dear staff at Jefferson Street Mansion,

I want to thank you for a truly magical night. Our daughter’s wedding was amazing. The minute the guests arrived, they were warmly greeted, cared for in every way, seated and ready for our event to begin. The walk down the aisle felt so special—I think every woman walking felt like a queen, that is, until my little girl descended with her dad. What a gorgeous sight. The tulle, the petals, the flowers, the background of the hills and water—all contributed to an ethereal experience that was way beyond our expectations. The evening continued in this fashion. Drinks were flowing, hors d’oeuvres were delicious—and when the bridal party was announced there was so much excitement in the air, I think we could have made our own lightening!! The tent was spectacular—candles, tiny lights, flowers—everyone felt beautiful, and thrilled to be a part of the experience. THE FOOD—presentation was incredible—so luscious and grand, and, of course, delicious down to the cake and chocolate covered strawberries. The kids danced until dawn, the older guests danced, relaxed outside the marquee and inside the mansion. I don’t think our wedding could have been more perfect. What I know, that the guests didn’t, is all the behind the scene work that was going on in order to provide a luxurious, flawless wedding. Toledo is abuzz with tales from the wedding of the century!!! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Moreover, the warmth and love that was generated by you and all your staff was absolutely amazing! I have to particularly mention Renée; she was incredible from start to finish. Her ability to organize, direct and choreograph each person or group with just the right touch and always with a smile felt as if she was part of the wedding party! Your prep staff was so efficient and your serving staff, especially Kendra, was so “spot on:, while distributing appetizers, paying particular attention to those people who were seated or not quite as quick to circulate. And at dinner, there was Renée, serving the elderly members of our party a sumptuous sampling of the buffet, in spite of everything else she was doing! Truly incredible!

You have created such a magnificent venue for those truly memorable events with your attention to detail. One can only appreciate that all your endeavors to create a piece of history is truly a labor of love.

Again, we can not thank you, all of your wonderful staff and especially Renée enough for making this wedding so incredibly special! The beauty of the setting was amazing, but, the beauty of you and your staff’s enthusiasm, positive attitude, warmth and hard work was what really made this wedding such a joyous and memorable event.

Our wedding at JSM was on 6/27/09. It was only one of two wedding sites we visited. We didn’t have to see anymore.

I can’t say enough about the venue, owner, coordinator or staff. They were all wonderful. Comments from our guests (150) were all positive — from “the best wedding I’ve attended” to “being at the Mansion seemed like being part of a movie”. I’m still surprised that the price was so reasonable.

Reed (owner) and Renée (coordinator) had every detail covered and they were a blast to work with. Staff members were always checking with us to see if we needed anything else.

If I could give more stars to this review, I would.

One more thing… provided a list of preferred vendors to hire. All were good, except the florist. But, if they are available, I suggest you choose DJ Tony Sparks (this guy is incredible) and photographer Eileen Fahy (pictures are beautiful).

I was recently married her at the Mansion September 6, 2008. I can only say wonderful things about Reed and Renée.

The grounds are beautiful and Reed is always making improvements and assuring everything is groomed and clean. The inside of the Mansion is gorgeous and the guests can tour the house inside and out while you are having photos taken.

The staff was amazing, everyone was so nice and accommodating, to me and all my guests. Every guest there told me how wonderful the staff was. The particular Saturday we got married was very very hot, over 100 degrees. I had some older guest, that were very overheated and the staff made sure they had a cool cloth for them and checked on them periodically.

Reed and Renée coordinated every move for the ceremony, which I totally appreciated. They made it real easy and fun for me. I was afraid I was going to freak out but they made sure the only thing I needed to do that day was get dressed and have a good time.

One of the standouts for me was in all the craziness leading up to that day i had forgotten to make table names for my tables, so my place cards had particular table names, but the tables only had numbers. Renée manned the table where the place cards were and had a map that directed my guests to the proper tables. She saved me from freaking out.

I think my only regret is that I did wish I had booked another hour of the reception. But my guests thought it was perfect as far as time wise.

As far as money is concerned, the average cost of a wedding here in the Bay area is $40,000. I spent ALOT less than that and Jefferson Street Mansion was worth every penny spent.

My best friend’s daughter just got married this last Sunday (6-14-09) at Jefferson Street Mansion. My best friend and I coordinated most of the wedding details, and throughout all our meetings/emails/and the wedding we could not have asked for better. Reed Robbins, the owner, is friendly yet professional, and her number one person, Renée, is very focused on making your wedding day as wonderful as you want it to be. The Mansion is absolutely beautiful, guests are invited to walk around the mansion, the grounds are kept spotless, and Reed is always making improvements to the property. Our first reaction when we saw the site was WOW! The staff on the wedding day were so very kind to everyone and genuinely showed an interest in what they were doing. Two staff members even suggested a spot where we could put our extra flowers and took care of it for us! I cannot say enough good things about our experience at Jefferson Street Mansion. If I could give them 10+ stars I would! Truly, I have coordinated quite a few weddings, and this is the best experience I have ever had! Book your wedding here — you will not find a better venue!

We would recommend JSM to any couple. The location is wonderful and the venue is so much more personal than a hotel or country club. The beautiful antique furniture, the pristine grounds, the breathtaking views, the lovely architecture are impressive. You have a true treasure in Renée. She is the epitome of professionalism. She was absolutely wonderful! She was on top of every detail, handled everything we threw at her, and she did it all with a smile. She and the staff work so well together and made our day run unbelievably smooth. We can’t think of one thing that could have gone better. And we’re not just referring to our wedding day. From the menu tasting, to the planning meeting, to the rehearsal dinner, Renée took care of us every step of the way. We would do it all over again, just the same way.

If anyone is unsure whether Jefferson Street Mansion is the place for them, please have them read this letter. We had numerous guests tell us that ours was the best wedding they had ever been to. You far exceeded our expectations! We knew that e picked the right place and people and yet you still blew us away!

We deeply appreciate your willingness to let us come back and take pictures with Erika’s parents since they were unable to make the wedding. It is extremely generous of you and it means a lot to us to be able to retake the photos. Yet another example of your world class service!

This last Saturday September 13, 2008 my Grandson Greg Ramos, and Kacey Alexandria (Black) Ramos, were married in the Catholic Church in Benicia… Following that was the reception ceremony’s and dinner at your Mansion… Just being there was an exhilarating and wonderful experience that I will not soon forget, [ if I were not 85 I would wish to have married, my dear deceased spouse Virginia there, as she deserved something special, “It is the graciousness which you possess in abundance” ]… I spoke to many of your employees, as I encountered them from time to time, and received a genuine courtesy in return, not often found these days, you are to be commended for that… Your dining experience was a absolute pleasure, it is not often that the table service, is of the refined quality you have strived to, and reached… So, I wish to thank you once again, for the wonderful, delightful few hours I spent as your guest… If some others do not appreciate the hospitality you rendered, then they are the losers…

Just a note to thank you for the great party. Our Daughter’s wedding, was so beautiful, and everything she had dreamed it would be. The location is spectacular, and the weather could not have been more perfect. Our family and friends are still raving about the grounds, the food, the flowers, the music, and the organization. Cathy, and Roberto, and the people that love them will never forget the memorable day. I also wanted to mention how impressed I was with your staff. They were all incredibly kind and courteous. One woman took the time to get some coffee for a cousin who had traveled several hours to the wedding, and the same woman served me coffee out in the garden before the wedding. But the most impressive staff, were the young people directing traffic and greeting guests in the parking lot. My parents, who are in their 80’s, and were running late, were greeted by your staff, allowed to park close to the building, and were offered help, to get my Mom, and her wheel chair into the court yard. One young man made a point to watch my Dad park, and then offered him help getting out of the car. Many people noticed, and we will never forget the kindness. Thank you again for the amazing day, and please thank the staff.

I recently had the great honor to officiate at the wedding of friends at the Jefferson Street Mansion in Benicia. Along with this honor came the pleasure of being a guest at this exceptional wedding site. Among my many endeavors I have been an interior designer for 30 years and was almost knocked of my feet by the wonderful decorating that had been done to this Civil War period mansion. It is abundantly clear that the owner drew her design inspiration from mid-nineteenth century New Orleans style. It is grand and elegant without that “over the top” Hollywood feel.

The ceremony was held in the South Garden under a pergola where the guests were seated to have a view of the Carquinez Straight and the rolling hills of Martinez and Port Costa. Everyone had a panoramic view. After the ceremony I led the guests to the East Garden where we were offered hors-d’ oeuvres and a sumptuous buffet dinner under a tent with more views of the water. I came away from the event feeling well feed and well served. I am truly pleased for my friends. I feel that the bride and groom chose an especially wonderful place to entertain their guests and in doing so got a truly good value for their money.

I 110% recommend both JSM and Renée!

My husband and I got married on October 13th, 2012. And wow! We were so supremely blessed to have JSM fall into our lap.Â

Our long story on finding a wedding venue began in May of 2011. We thought we had found the ideal wedding venue at the Berkeley City Club. However, when it took them a month for their coordinator to just email us a cookie-cutter contract, we decided that we couldn’t deal with their unresponsive and unprofessional manner. (Especially since we knew I would be thesis-writing and job hunting about now.)Â

With crushed spirits, we relaunched the search for our perfect venue. We first visited JSM in August 2011. We fell in love with the quirky decor, and it had everything we wanted: an outdoor ceremony spot and a spacious reception area. Also a bonus for those brides not wanting to do too much work: they have a reasonably priced caterer. If you want to use an outside caterer, I don’t think this is the place for you b/c of their fees, but we just wanted that decision to be made, so we were happy!

Renée is their on-site and day-of coordinator. And she is an absolute gem! She made our wedding run so smoothly, and she was always super energetic and ready to go! (Even when we saw her with a cold and sprained ankle!) Renée is very responsive over both email and phone, which was a relief after our previous experience. And Renée actually made sure that we were fed at the reception! She really took care of us, and we couldn’t be more grateful.Â

Ultimately, my husband and I feel very lucky that we found JSM. It was a magical experience for us. Our parents and guests have told us over and over that they thought the venue was beautiful and that Renée really did an amazing job.Â
